The way this has the complete texture and feel of an earnestly Christian coming-of-age movie but it jerks you upright every few minutes with something like a Gregg Araki DVD to remind you what movie you’re watching…

Woke up today unable to stop thinking about the final scene of this film and I needed to reaffirm that it is, in fact, my favorite ending I’ve ever seen. Pure catharsis unlike anything else.

This fucking rocked. A movie for all of us who have been so horny we destroy our towns and the integrity of the church that governs them. For all of us who do weird things when we have a crush, like turn them into a religious pariah. The dialogue, the fruity styling of the King’s Baron, and Vanessa Redgrave were all (for lack of a better word) immaculate. Kind of a shame I didn’t see this before I had already healed from all of my Catholic guilt. 

Oh and the uncredited Twiggy cameo is a fun little nugget
