هذا أحد الوثائقيات التي يمكنني أن أقترحها للآخرين دون تردد، وثائقي يقدر اللون والحياة على الرغم من حجم الآلام التي تمددت في عائلة واحدة شهدت كل هذا التفرق.
شعرت وعلى مدار دقائق الفيلم أنني أريد أن أخترق شاشة حاسوبي لأحضن دولت، حضنها كان سيكون دافئاً على الرغم من كل الألم الذي عاشته في عالم لم ينصفها في شيء.
في عدة مشاهد، شعرت أن اللقطات التي صورت في المركبة للطرق والأشجار كانت زائدة عن حدها، ولكنني أفهم سبب استخدامها وآمل أن يكون ما فهمته هو السبب الحقيقي. أما التعليق الصوتي فهو مدرسة نصاً، وصوتاً، ووقوفاً بين الجمل.
أمل رمسيس شاعرة نسجت في هذا الفيلم مجموعة شعرية متكاملة، كنت آمل أن لا تنتهي.

نظرة الشاعر العامة، دقيق الملاحظة، صادق في موضوعيته، محب ومبتسم من بعيد، أقسى لحظة كانت عندما أمر إيليا العصفور بالرحيل؛ لكنه لم يكن عصفوره منذ بداية الأمر، المثير للدهشة أن هذا الأمر نفذ بحركة يد واحدة.
هكذا هي العودة للوطن، برغم قسوتها، دافئة، وليست ببرودة أوروبا الآلية.
."نحن نعلم أين نجد الحب على الرغم من أن هذه "عيشة لا حب فيها

بدايةً ولأن المال يحدد كل شيء أرفض أن أعرف الفيلم على أنه فلسطيني، طاقم العمل بمعظمه "إسرائيلي".
جيد الحبكة، نهاية صادمة، تكوين لقطات ممتازة، تمثيل مفتعل، لهجات غير واضحة، والفيلم إسرائيلي؛ ولهذا السبب لا أستطيع رؤية الجمال فيه.
هل رأيي منصف؟ 
من الناحية التطبيقية "نعم"، من موضع فلسطيني "نعم"، أما من ناحية الجمال؛ فإن المبدأ لي يحدد كل شيء، وإن افتقد ما يوافق مبدئي؛ فعين الجمال ليست نقية خالصة بنظري.

I believe that the film tried to tell something. However, it doesn’t succeed in doing so. Moreover, I couldn’t understand the characters' motivations.
I feel sorry for the time I kept pushing myself to finish it.

أكره أن أكون بهذه القسوة تجاه أفلامنا الفلسطينية، أعلم أن الحوار في الفيلم يبدو قريباً للواقع؛ ولكن لم هذا الحوار دوماً؟ وما هي القوة الحقيقية التي يمتلكها أبو مريم أمام الاحتلال الإسرائيلي، وكأن الفيلم كان بداية لفيلم آخر وانتهى بسرعة، ولم يعطني شيئاً حسب مسماه.

When each inanimate thing turns into the eyes of political systems. Generational trauma of colonialism in “liberated countries”, systems that never change.
Slouli took advantage of every cinematic element and used them to tell a relatable story that resonates with every Arab and “wretched of the earth” who dares to dream and dreams of moving assuming that they would have a chance in the developed world of freedom.

Is this a film that other Korean filmmakers can make?
My answer to this question is “YES”.
Will we have a Korean actor such as Lee Sun Kyun? 
The answer is “NO”!
RIP Lee Sun Kyun, you will always live in our memory.

It’s five stars for sure, until I watch it again. For now, I will leave myself with a mind shock.

فيلم جيد، هذه أول مرة لي أشاهد هيام عباس تمثل، لها حضور مميز، حضور الأمهات.
لم تعجبني الرموز الصريحة التي تدل على فلسطين في الفيلم.
الذي شفع للقصة بنظري هو أنها مستوحاة من حياة عائلة المخرج، لو لم تكن كذلك لكنت اعتبرتها مجاملة للمعايير الغربية والمهرجانات والممولين.

هكذا يصنع الفلسطينيون أفلامهم، كما يصنعون الحياة.. كوهمٍ ومن العدم.
يعرض الفيلم حتى ٢٨ أيار ٢٠٢٥ على منصة أفلامنا.

This doesn’t feel right at all. Moreover, it is predictable.

أظن أن آخر ما يريده نواه باومباخ وغريتا غيرويغ أن يوصف فرانسيس ها بأنه فيلم صادق أو حقيقي وما يدل على ذلك هو الدقائق الخمس الأولى من الفيلم إن لم يخنِّي فهمي للاقتباس، ولعل كليهما محقان في ذلك. 
وللكلام بقية في مشاهدةٍ لاحقةٍ.

Strong written film, amazing acting by Emma Stone. However, I didn't like Easy A, and I am not sure if I wanna rate it.

“As if anyone is interested in us women”

I rarely know anything about Jane Austen rather than her writings and their film adaptions. This mini series was an eyeopening to me and note for myself that “perhaps you should know more”. 
I have read that there were people who blamed her sister Cassandra for burning Jane’s letter. What I surely know is that a person is free of what he/she may be ed. Humans have the right to be ed or forgotten, even forgetting tells a story. I know that from working in a community archive for four years. 

The opening shot in episode no.1 was unpleasant to me. I spent the first hour after finishing Miss Austen reflecting on its screenplay choices, I have read some reviews that were questioning the two stories from past and present crossing by each other. However, I don’t see a problem with that, the screenplay needs some strengthening, but it doesn’t mean that one story should be told and the other vanishes.
This story is a resemblance of past letters, and present, and memory, and to you look in the eyes of the present. Although Jane’s and Cassandra’s could be a series on its own, I sensed how Isabella's story complimented Jane’s and Cassandra’s story of sisterhood and womanhood in a society that asks women not to dream, love, and purchase a life of their own.

Another take, because why not cover ourselves with the warmth of love of Pride and Prejudice?

I won’t rate a childhood film. However, it seems this is when I say goodbye to this film to keep its childhood glamour.
The like I give to the film is from Amal, the teenager who had a crush on the thief lord Scipio, played by Rollo Weeks.

This isn’t a review, it is more like a statement than a review.
I watched this film nearly ten years ago during An-Najah 12th Documentary Film Festival, I was a fresh student in the Radio and TV faculty. I its story, how it felt sincere, and how much I was and my colleagues proud of this film that we were mad that it didn’t win the best student documentary film in 2015. We were convinced that political aspects played a role in not giving this film what it truly deserved. However, it won a prize from Al-Jazeera International Documentary Film Festival.
Returning over time, I think this film is the one that encouraged me to make films, to love them, and to purchase them, maybe because of how proud I was of it and its filmmakers, Ahmad AlBazz and Yasser Jadallah.
Although I usually don’t rate films I watched before using Letterbox, I give إليكِ أمي five stars, and it is obvious why.

This is how films make you nostalgic for times you’ve never lived, and you won’t ever live.

A technicolor of mixed emotions by the end. Beautiful color grading, although storytelling seems fluid at the beginning of each episode, I think it struggled in the middle of some episodes to keep its fluidity, and smart film references make you guess how the story will end for some characters.
It’s not a story about film love, it’s normally about life that films try to convey.

This wasn’t getting any better, I forced myself to watch it until minute 43. What a waste of time! I was shocked by the amount of sexualization of a woman’s body! This is worse than the worst film I’ve ever seen in my life, and I don’t it. I think there was a chance for the film. However, it kept failing me.

The atmosphere and the story had gone the wrong way in the last two episodes. However, it made it up in the last 30 minutes.

I tried many times to create a criteria for rating films: " How many stars should I give this film? How many stars out of five should I give that film?” Those questions kept knocking my head. However, a good film always speaks for itself, no matter what. I have learned to appreciate the effort filmmakers put into telling an honest story, and by filmmakers, I mean every person who gave the film its life.

كأن طفولتي، وما قبل طفولتي التي أتذكرها تعاد في هذا الشريط… راودتني للحظة الحسرة على الطفولة التي سلبوها منا، ولكنني أدركت أنهم لم يسلبوا من الطفل فينا ضميره ونصرته، فأصبح مصطلح الطفولة هشاً جداً أمامي. لتحيا أسئلة الأطفال الفلسطينيين والعرب، ولتحيا أحلامهم وحدهم دون غيرهم، ليحيا حلم ندى، وبراء، والشعراوي، ليحيا الطفل الحر فينا.
بعض ما قيل في الفيلم وعاش في: 

إليان الراهب تسأل: "كيف بيت الأبيض هالقد حلوين وهنن فلسطينيين؟"
“This cow Lebanese or Israeli?”

-"ليه الأطفال هلقد مهتمين بالسياسة؟"
-"مش سياسة هول بشوفوا مجزرة بتم على التلفزيون كل يوم..مش سياسة"

RIP Malik Bendjelloul. You left us, but your magic is still here living in the compositions of Searching for Sugar Man. My tears are stuck in the gates of my eyes. Thank you for giving me hope. You will always be ed.

Thanks to every person made of ion for lighting the way to others who dare to dream, Sixto Rodríguez, and others who made choices to be or not to be.

I am a person who watches films after I google search them. However, I wish I hadn’t made this mistake, especially with this one. Then I would have enjoyed it more. Because I knew its twist, I felt it was longer than it should be.

I am left with a question after some hours of watching the film: Is music prestigious in South Africa? Why haven’t we seen any Indigenous African talking, or listening to Rodríguez in the sequence? It’s a question to be searched for an answer.

The thing about most of this genre of Korean dramas is that they end up drawing a smile on your face, this is essential. However, the storyline is expected. Korean screenwriters need to set up new patterns of writing and developing the story.

Smart, fluid, and heartwarming.

A brilliant cinematography, and an honest voice-over.

"دايماً المجازر بنعطيها أسماء لنميزها عن خواتها، وهيك سمينا المجزرة الإسرائيلية بعيناتا بحرب ال٢٠٠٦ مجزة ال١٨، ١٨ قتيل"

A film inspired by Woody Allen's directing of Midnight in Paris. I think I was biased toward Kieran Culkin while rating the film; I haven’t seen a tender actor like him in a while, which makes me a fan of him. Reflecting on A Real Pain, I think David's scene showing his real emotions towards his cousin, on a cinematic level, was beautifully done. However, its writing was a little awkward for me, exposing himself in front of strangers; I think it would be written better.

Frantz Fanon's On Violence is a revolutionary text the film didn’t succeed in capturing it. Gayatri Chakravorty Spivak occupied the first scene of the documentary with nearly, at least for me, nothing to say. I didn’t even understand where did the point of gender come from, and why it is important for the context to show such a statement. This film was produced in a period when people were still fighting for their liberation. However, the footage dismissed them.
Overall, The film failed the text.

I have a difficulty rating this film. The rating is somewhere between 2.5 to 3 stars. I didn’t feel the film peak, which is disappointing.

The film started weak. However, Karam Taher (Fraha) managed to strengthen it while fighting for her exit from the storage. 
For me, it’s becoming a cliche that filmmakers input women's rights in the film to get funds. However humanizing a soldier who killed a whole family of mother, father and their two daughters is a massive issue for me. Habaibi, the occupiers have their platforms and films, let’s focus on humanizing ourselves first.

Never in a million years, I thought I would watch this film. However, I was invited to watch it, and back then I didn’t recognize it was the Israeli film that the media talked about last year.
I hate this film, as much as I hate the Israeli films that are made about Palestinians. This film is not honest at all. The “Israeli” journalist Youval is standing as a hero defending Palestinians in the eyes of the occupiers forgetting that he’s an occupier too. There’s nothing as one state for two of us, there’s no us. That’s why Palestinians must make their films. You mustn’t expect that a Palestinian who is killed by you in his/her land is welcoming you. This film was made for festivals that like this kind of comparison. There is nothing to compare between the life of a Palestinian and what is called an “Israeli”.
