Andrew Lambert’s review published on Letterboxd:
I really tried.
I'm honestly not rooting against the MCU like a lot of people by now, I guess it has just ed me by.
And if I needed any confirmation of that, oh boy it was these two hours.
Look, I could go on and on about how aggressively soulless and deeply unfunny I found Deadpool & Wolverine, the general state of the cash grabbing, creatively bankrupt MCU in this least sacred of timelines - but the fact is that I'm just a grouchy old bastard in the minority, because clearly there's still a huge audience for this and that's fine.
It's an audience that includes many people I know and love, so I'm genuinely happy for anyone who still gets a kick from these movies.
Perhaps Deadpool & Wolverine can even be a springboard for Marvel based on the numbers so far and what seems a mostly positive reception, I just won't be there for whatever ungodly phase of this metaverse comes next.
Clock me out forever, MCU.
