Notes:
- The film is one of the finest comedies this year. And that was unexpected.
- The Igor-Garnik-Toros trio was super hilarious. Every word, every action, and every expression of theirs was too much fun. That entire "find Vanya" sequence was laugh-out-loud funny while simultaneously dealing with a serious issue. Toros even goes on a tirade against the current social media generation, lol. Loved the character evolution for Igor.
- Again, love how NYC is painted in the film, with the weather playing its own character.
- Mikey Madison is stupendous as Ani - she really nails the sexy escort vibe, the cute romantic girl vibe, and the crazy unhinged wifey vibe. Breakout role indeed.
- The realizational "sex scene" at the end was brilliantly done. A conditioned Ani only knows how to repay favours in sex, but to her surprise, she finds love? Such a beautifully cinematic ending.
- Sean Baker dramas that revolve around sex workers are slowly emerging as a separate genre. It's also beautifully edited (by Sean himself).
- Some 2000s bangers in the OST.
