This is a very meanspirited horror film with a haunting psychological aspect to it. It has a few very wtf and very creepy moments, and that's before the even creepier and more wtf finale. It's a slow burn, and an effective one at that. I wished the lore was explored a bit more, but the witch remains an utterly scary presence. Seriously, if I was this guy I'd take going back to prison instead of being five more days in that house even after the relatively mild stuff that happened on the first day! Prepare for a few emotional punches and also for some extreme actual punches near the ending. . .there is not an extreme amount of violence here, but when it comes it's graphic, gruesome and shocking. A nasty little supernatural flick.
