The final shot made me squeeze my eyes shut like a pissing little boy, recoil from the screen held over my head in a dark room. But some things you have to look at, or you are drawn, and it feels like the same thing at the time. Feeling a tightness in the temples, germ of a hangover. I was very reckless in my Internet usage as a child. You can see a lot of stuff.

Once again recommending “Her Natural Instinct” by Good Cue Sign.


+ exercise caution w/ rapid flashing lights at 30 second mark, paired with intentionally deafening noise.

Watched with and without sound. More resonant in the latter, I think — there’s a major defusing of atmospheric tension in providing something so directly “creepy” to latch onto. Like mold, it forms best in the gaps and contradictions. Overall, I very much enjoyed this — the hot shivers of the camera, the taste of dust and flaked metal, the pure glee taken in the privilege to frolic necropolis. More than charmed, I was interested. Will be digging further into Gunhilda’s work.
