Mahershala Ali is a damn good actor. Him and Virgo Mortensen kept this going for me. With that being said, it’s a by-the-books Oscar bait movie about racism and how two people from different walks of life can overcome their differences and become true friends.
It was by no means a bad movie, I just couldn’t help but groan during some scenes and dialogue. Time and time again, every few years we get a movie like this just in time…
