A quietly powerful film demonstrating the power dynamics that forces one to stay subservient and silent. The world of sports is a fruitful environment to explore this issue in, as the dynamic between coach and player can be extremely intense and demanding. In this film, Tessa van Den Broeck does an extraordinary job conveying the tense, internal struggle that one faces, especially a teenager, when deciding to speak up or stay silent. The tension truly is deafening and carries us throughout the film. Overall, a very strong directorial debut.

I must add that music plays such a fundamental role that propels you through the story and anchors you in time and place.…
