I love rom coms. Lighten up, bro.

I felt that several of the people that Hilary Swank knew in this movie were unnecessarily mean to her. It hadn't even been a full year since her husband died, and she's already getting told to move on. Which is ridiculous - especially as he seemed to die in a horrific way.
Anyway, this is schlock but pleasant schlock. You know you're being emotionally manipulated but you're not being traumatized by it. The crying moments are spaced out well and…
Very low-budget, the acting is meh for the most part, and you can tell it is a debut, but it’s also pretty charming. This felt like a time capsule. It is incredibly 90s, right down to the chunky highlights in Lisa’s hair. What I really liked about it was Reena’s group of friends - this movie is incredibly gay, it’s great - and Reena’s relationship with her sister and mother.
Also, Cara Buono.
