really no words to describe this one. the first and last shot, the swaying of the people, only seeing their backs and hearing their voices, the crescendos of clicks and graffiti, the sounds of birds. what an innovative use of technology that s the realization of humanity, history and memory instead of fragmenting and replacing it

Foucault would’ve loveddddd this!!!! an uneasy portrayal of surveillance and bureaucracy that is both mundane and threatening, and yet also somehow comical. will not be forgetting the cut to the man monitoring them with his head in his hands and sighing LMAOOOO

cinematography edit and music so so excellent!!! good ol’ patriarchy ❤️

it’s no parasite but I quite enjoyed. I ❤️ himbos. didn’t expect the metaphors to be so literal but it worked. my favourite was the line delivery of “what a good mom”

the message that life has no purpose without work and the amount of mentions of “natural order” is so craaazzyyyy. need to watch a Marxist analysis of this ASAP!!!!!!! obviously still loved it since it was my favourite DVD as a kid.

the world is terrible but at least a cat, capybara, lemur, and golden retriever found each other somewhere out there 

really liked the POV style cinematography which I didn’t expect from this (although it made Clair dizzy) and the movement of the camera. and how it resisted the tendency to anthropomorphize the animals …. capybara best actor nom when …. and the cat and bird solidarity 😭😭😭
