This was my 6000th film!
As an uninitiated to the story outside the previous films I don’t have that fevered devotion that many share. Gorgeously shot it reminds me of 300 from a cinematography perspective, which is a great compliment.

Timothy does an excellent job in his gradual then sudden transformation into what he becomes. Ferguson and Zendaya rely on a series of intense stares to accomplish their work, and when Rebecca got them blue eyes I was entranced. Bardem’s comic relief was a chestnut.

Not the biggest fan of the Harkonnen Dark City gladiator world but am happy they didn’t add all the boils like the 84 version. Likely this will make my top 3 new releases of the year when all is said and done.
