Brett Arnold’s review published on Letterboxd:
“...sent her personality raining down upon the horrified birthday revelers”
He kills the hookers by giving them tainted crack that causes them to explode from the inside out, what more could you want from a film?!
Frank Henenlotter makes the movies that Troma *thinks* it makes. They’re cheap, hilarious, feature plenty of over-the-top practical gore and inventive silliness (in this one there’s an exploded leg POV shot, for example), gratuitous T&A, and genuinely amusing social commentary. And it takes place in New Jersey! Lloyd Kaufman wishes he could pull this off as consistently.
The way it ends, I can only compare the practical effects to THE THING, so that’s a hell of a compliment. The final punchline really drives home the “men taking control of women’s bodies” thing. A gem!
