gagggg omg so fun and silly and servy. but seriously its so camp and so ironic in a lot of different ways. very enjoyable, doesnt take itself seriously at all and i loved it! also i think its worth noting (for whatever reason that may come to mind) that it was released in april 2001. 👀 rachel leigh cook ate down and i love alan cumming when he plays a devious homosexual man trying to sabotage a girl band in the y2k era (2 such cases come to mind)

You're not gonna get this the first time. This movie is a work of pure artistic genius, combining a classical love triangle story with the magic of the late 1970s/early 1980s as well as Greek mythology. The characters are all brilliant and the dialogue, though simple, is so enjoyable. If you don't like this movie, think about why: there's nothing wrong with it, we are just conditioned to think of movies that are simply about love and happiness and searching for one's true purpose in life as boring or simple. This movie is fun, and that is a good thing. The soundtrack goes hard too.
