Definitely more of an interesting watch than an impressive watch.

This might not be a universally popular opinion, and yes I am, more than anyone, tired of the 'torture-porn' trend but I think that along with the very first SAW and the 2010 remake of ISOYG this sequel is a good film.
The difference between these and such films as Eli Roth's Hostel films, the later SAW sequels, Uwe Boll's Seed and Hidden In The Woods (from Frightfest 2012) etc is that they contain characters that are played well enough…
A striking visual direction by Terence Fischer, strong performance by the majority of the cast, in particular Oliver Reeds and Clifford Evans, and a great score make this a very enjoyable Hammer effort that ranks among one of the best of their horror canon I have seen so far. Also incorporates some decent werewolf FX work for its time.
It is though perhaps not one of Hammer's most well known films, which is in my opinion a shame.
