Hooked for the first 20 minutes, then lost interest for the next 40, but goddamn if it didn’t pull me back in again for the remainder!
There’s a lot I really loved in this but the early plot pivot caused all the suspense to evaporate for a huge chunk of time. Would be interesting to see an edit with a more linear story structure. Start with Trent and Josh AND THEN move into Jasper and the post office. Not sure if it would really work or not but maybe!
This documentary: “I love Tom Savini! Savini’s the best! Hands down! What a guy! He can do so many things! I mean who can do the things that Savini’s done? Absolutely no one cause there’s no one like Savini. He’s never done anything wrong ever. Did I mention how much I love Tom Savini? Cause I love him, he’s the best etc etc etc”
Groucho Marx: “I love my cigar too, but I take it out of my mouth every once and a while”
There’s a scene played out through a series of living tableaus of the swing girls being chased through the woods by a wild boar to ‘What A Wonderful World’ by Louis Armstrong. The boar is defeated when one of the girls falls out of a tree and crushes its skull with their butt. Pure magic from start to finish.
