Look, I watched all of The Idol. I kind of understood what I was getting into. The Weeknd appeared to craft this, much like The Idol, on vibes alone. And the vibes are very interesting!! However, there’s not much else going for it. There’s a small bit of plot, some super undeveloped characters, and some probably unintentionally funny acting from Abel. 

Also… maybe I didn’t understand what was getting into because I thought this was going to be a visual album accompanying The Weeknd’s latest album. But it isn’t? There’s only like two songs played in full. Some snippets of other songs. Did NOT get to vibe to “Sao Paulo” like I had hoped.

There is a scene where Jenna Ortega’s character does her best Bateman and jams to some Weeknd songs while rattling off Billboard facts about them. That was fun.

I’m so sorry Abel. Love your music, but this one’s a . Will be weirdly seated for whatever your next cinematic ion project is, though. They are entertaining.

This is a romantic comedy, Bong Joon-Ho style. I had so much fun watching it.

LOVED the creepers so much because they were just little guys ☺️

Dichotomy of Chad Mickey and Smol Bean Mickey was a fun time.

The fact that the one scientist heard four seconds of attempted Creeper conversation and was able to make a translated was sending me. They should have hired her for the Arrival mission.

Disorienting at times. Found myself being like “whaaaat” several times throughout. Anyways, stan Cham!

Okay but it was crazy that they didn’t know “Creep.”

In the movie theater scene, they talk about the new Jack Black movie, “The Misadventures of Ezekiel Balls” and it just didn’t to me that the movie isn’t real. Just looked at it and was like “oh, yeah.”
