a girl, is it?
it's alright dad. she's not really a girl, she's a horse-fancier. ˚୨୧⋆。˚ ⋆
౨ i’ve seen a lot of reviews saying this film isn’t as exciting or thrilling as other hitchcock movies, but i think that’s exactly what makes it special. hitchcock really experimented here. from the visuals to the way the story unfolds, you can still tell it’s a hitchcock film, but the way he creates suspense is different from his other works.
this movie isn’t about a psycho killer or spy story. — it’s about trauma and that’s what makes it charming. it leans more towards drama than a typical thriller, but the tension builds well enough and the main characters were great. tippi hedren was absolutely stunning ! she’s the gem of this film ♡ but sean connery also did a fantastic job.
one thing i’ve to say is that hitchcock directing this film was a bit of a mistake. don’t get me wrong, he definitely can make films with great couples and memorable romance scenes, but in this film, it really lacked that. not because it’s about childhood trauma, but because hitchcock wasn’t sensible enough for this film. and that’s a shame because tippi and sean looked amazing together.
it’s not a film for everyone but i really liked it ♡ my advice is watching this film thinking is just a drama not a thriller i think you’ll enjoy it more ♡ ৎ
