Upon some reflection, I enjoyed this a bit more than when I initially stepped out of the theatre. I always want to jump into the worlds Wes Anderson creates yet I can't help but to feel emotionally divested once I'm there and I'm still not sure if that's on me. I think it's on me. 

Benicio Del Toro was great but Mia Threapleton was the real highlight for me. Her role as Liesl really has me excited for what she does next.

Okay maybe I do like romance movies.

Was I disturbed? Yeah, but those disturbing moments fleeted so quickly to where I couldn't really feel anything. I loved those nasty, fucked-up scenes but the road between each one was bumpy and felt foreign to everything else going on. I realllly wanted to like this guys...grapefruit!! and I did to some extent. Still not a bad movie at all. The performances were great and the sfx were stellar but I'm still severely underwhelmed. 

I'll still 1000% going to be seated for the next Philippou flick.

Gritty, sultry, and bloody. 

I couldn't ask for anything more from Sinners. It was a seamless blend of genres while still maintaining a very distinct, gorgeous and consistent style. There's a scene that I'm sure will stay with me for a very long time.
Fuck, my eyes were getting watery just knowing how influential and powerful this film is and will be. One of the best of the 2020's so far. 

Also, that score was absolutely insane.
