"You may die. You may see. The beauty and the horror!" - Jessica
Even better the second time around! Having some familiarity with it going in allowed me to see more of what each character brought to the screen. There isn’t a weak spot in this entire movie when it comes to how each was played. I’m not expert on Oscars and why they hand them out, it seems to me that there should be a ton of Oscar nominations for this one. Timothée Chalamet’s speech as the film begins its climax was just one of the moments where you start to see how invested he was in this character. And my god, Rebecca Ferguson during her transformation to the Reverend Mother was unforgettable. So many more were outstanding, including Javier Bardem's Stilgar, Zendaya's Chani, and Austin Butler's Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen (OMG that last fight scene!!)
I will watch this movie again and again, just as I will the first one. As I sit with it after a couple of days, I’m not bothered by the idea of naming this my favorite movie of all time. But we’ll let the recency bias fade before I make that official.
