Masaaki Yuasa never disappoints ,not even in his directorial debut . Maybe one can have qualms with his depiction of women as an object of desire in this movie , but nevertheless the message still stands to live is to feel joy , to live in the boundaries of possibilities is to accept defeat.
This film despite its stunning cinematography , that's so carefully crafted it reminds me of Kubrick , its great performances barring that of Daniel Day Lewis who sounded like Tommy Wiseau's handicapped brother has some issues .
