This is where it all began for me. My dad chose it hoping for an action movie, but once it was over, all he said was "that was really weird". And I did agree with the sentiment. BUT there was just something about it that had me intrigued. It was like nothing I've ever seen before, and most importantly, felt before.

The movie created a sense of mood and atompshere that I didn't know was possible; an experience novel to…

If juggling a soccer ball with your knees is what gets girls, my boy Billy back in the day should've been surrounded by girls constantly; he could do keep ups with his knees for hours and literally won competitions for it. But he wasn't surrounded by girls, and juggling with your knees doesn't count.

I bring this up because one obviously I love soccer as much as movies, but two because this could've been The Soccer Kid if it wasn't…

Well that was... insane. So American and so 80s it hurts.

Was this every American bar in the 1980s? Were bars just a place for men to fight and women to strip? Or was it just this corrupt town? Was it supposed to be Sodom? Is it satire? Is this good? Is this bad? I honestly don't know what to make of this. And neither does Prime because it said its a horror film??? And Shea Serrano says its an…

WAR IS OVER! Inspired by the Music of John & Yoko

2023

It's like the Kendall Jenner Pepsi commercial, but for chess.com.

Animated by a video game studio, inspired by a song, and holds almost no value with its childish and congratulatory "but what if no war" messaging. Yes we would all like that, thank you Oscars.

Honestly baffling that this got nominated over Once Upon a Studio, or any other shortlisted animated short (yet I am not really surprised). I haven't seen any of other ones (including Once Upon a Studio), but I doubt they could be worse than this. Really hoping this doesn't win, especially with all the unique animation styles of the other four noms.

I don't think it needs the extreme example to make its point, but obviously it makes the point as well as the film as a whole more gut wrenching. It's on the line of being manipulative, and just hits me the wrong way because the Oscars will probably give it the win to pat themselves on the back, but then nothing will be changed.
