first things first, huge congratulations to greig fraser on his second oscar win.
i can’t even try to put the experience of watching this into words. it’s so entirely immersive in a way that i have never seen before (besides the first instalment). the pacing of the story and the absolute scale of what is shown on screen is just so impressive in every way. the fight scenes are choreographed and shot in such an exciting and fluid way that all you can do is sit back and just attempt to take it all in. the same goes for any of the visual effects. this franchise is in a league of its own at the moment.
timothée really shows off his acting chops towards the end of the second act onwards but austin butler was something else. the character he portrays is just so awesome and he does it in a way that is genuinely unsettling at times. i need to watch this again immediately.
long live the fighters. long live cinema!
