Didn't love it as much as people seem to here, but I totally get the praise. Pulpy fun with an excellent ensemble cast, great visuals and score, memorable sequences (that transcending-time-musical-dance scene indeed, the aspect ratio changes), and the threat of vampires as a social commentary on cultural appropriation and racism works well.
You can easily see how inspired it is by Rodriguez's films such as "From Dusk till Dawn" of even "The Faculty" in its tone, and yet the film manages to stand out, having a clear voice and identity. Also the best film about Blues so far imo!

One of those films about Hollywood's harsh and even nightmarish reality. Specifically having writers' block and what it means to truly write something of value among many other themes.
A Coen Bro film through and through thanks to their trademark use of dark humor that still manages to stand out in their filmography; thanks to its almost horror like approach at times. Always intriguing thanks to its use of symbolism. While I didn't love it, I get why it's one of their most acclaimed works. Great cast as usual.

A very likable and sincere tearjerker which easily fits into the "underrated gem" category. Robin Williams really was kindness incarnate.
