Hooptober 8: Film 4/34: 8 decades: 1990s
A solid, entertaining 90s slasher. It’s written by Kevin Williamson, the writer of Scream, and it has a similar tone and characters, but isn’t nearly as self-referential or genre-savvy. It plays almost more as a mystery than a typical slasher, especially since there’s a significant stretch of the movie where nobody actually gets killed. The complicated reveal of the killer’s identity and motives is a little ridiculous. Overall a fun time, but not nearly a top tier slasher.
