I'm such a fan of sequels that completely do their own thing, and somehow, this is a such a heartfelt, beautiful movie with super grounded performances in a crazy world. Definitely the second best ROTLD.
I kind of loved this. I think it will probably struggle a little bit to find an audience because it's really trying to merge 70s Italian horror cinema with modern Blumhouse sensibilities. I suspect fans of the former will lose it a little on the latter and fans of the latter will lose it a little on the former. I'm on the 70s Italian cinema side, but I was willing to accept it on its own and jump scares.…

We signed an NDA, but then they told us to talk about it, so I'm confused, but I'll just say I really dug it.
It's wildly cartoonish, but also tackling serious themes about intergenerational trauma, tragedy, and mass casualty.
He never makes his movies easy for the audience, but he makes them great, and I love it.
