The “Power over spice is power over all” line came on at the beginning and this guy next to me did a lil jump in his seat,  went “ohhh yeah,” and then was locked in the whole way through. Great way to start the movie.

Third time around and it still rocks. Here are my favorite moments:

The Harkonnen soldiers activating their jet packs in the first scene.

When we hear the Baron killing those slaves from outside his gross pool room, and Rabban looks away from the door in terror as his name is called.

The first Harkonnen spice collector getting destroyed.

Feyd-Rautha’s reaction when he is told he could become emperor.

When Paul slowly stands up as he’s riding the worm for the first time.

The shot of Paul watching the atomics fly towards Arrakeen.

The worms bursting through the sand cloud during the Battle of Arrakeen. 

When the Baron, in his pathetic final moments, lusts after the throne one last time.

Paul’s last delivery of the line “lead them to paradise,” fully detached from its initial message of holy salvation and now a call to massacre and enslave.
