How well timed (not that anyone, even Paul Thomas Anderson himself, could have known) this film turned out to be. Released in 2007 just before the global economy imploded. Watching this and Michael Moore’s Capitalism a Love Story would be an ideal double bill for understanding American economics.

Watching Daisies is so delightfully fun but also can make one fume. Such creative freedom and socio-political critique combined in one was to be crushed by Soviet tanks two years later. The girls were prescient.
