FICUNAM 2025 (International Competition)

After a failed screening that was postponed due to an extraordinary elections in Mexico. I begin this edition of the festival with one of the films of the competition.

It seems that this director already made some works, including a work here in Mexico (Ts'onot). In this case, it's clear why this film is here. A complete sensorial and dreamlike journey between shadows, forest, caves and other places.

With few dialogues and a lot of "few action" this one was weird, but well, there are more to be watched.

Well, my last pick from Sundance CDMX, another film from the World Cinema Dramatic Competition.

A coming of age about a forbidden love and its connections through the music. Of course its have some funny moments, specially when the generations collide. (young ald old)

M(a)y Korea Challenge 2025
22-27. Directed by Women (Han Ji-won*)

After the queer animated film The Summer, Han Ji-won came back with this Netflix original film. A love story set in a future time, that despite it's another hallyu-esque film, I enjoyed this one too much, despite it's cheesy style. It seems that it was an improvement on the production.
