I will no longer be “giving Zack Snyder a chance.” The man has never made a good movie, and he’s had more money and time and chances than anyone to do it. He’s garbage. His movies are garbage. This movie is garbage.
Do not show me Sean Spicer in the opening cut and then make a bunch of garbage Trump jokes throughout the movie. Trump stuff has never been and will never be funny, but especially not when Snyder does it after putting money in Sean Spicer’s pocket?
Trash.
Disappointing after starting off really strong. Got a little too cheesy. One or two jokes/nods to the video game is alright but there were quite a few more than that. There was also quite a lot of unnatural dialogue and exposition about what Mortal Kombat is, what Shang Tsung plans to do. Kabal had a really stupid accent.
If you've seen the Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee episode with Eddie Murphy, then you pretty much get how this movie goes. Topical, smart jokes like "They can turn penises into vaginas now. It's science!" and "Did you run here all the way from Zamunda?" will have you bent over with side-splitting laughter so powerful, and so painful that you will puke your guts out from start to finish.
If you want to see the "whatever you like" joke again…
Push the goddamn button! What button? The play button! And then the rewind button 'cause there's a decent chance you first saw this on VHS. I actually saw a screener DVD of it from my friend's stepdad. I don't know what he did for a living that he had screeners. I should ask. Anyway.
