What a perfect and funny movie that has no relevance to our time and politics whatsoever!

Visually wonderful but disappointingly boring. I guess the pacing is off? I can’t really even tell. Just didn’t click with me. Again—and I can’t stress this enough—insanely gorgeous movie.

I had grown disillusioned to the Oscars Movie Challenge from Joel. I made one the first year, had fun. Tried the year after, didn't get much done. This year I didn't make anything. I think I convinced myself that my personal catalogue of films should be carefully crafted and not shot in a few hours. But this totally rekindles the spark. Makes me question why I consider "carefully crafted" and "shot within three hours" mutually exclusive. And like Joel said in his budget breakdown—it's about saying "fuck it" and not much else.

A bit more scattered and loose than the first. Plus, a more annoying love interest. Plus, no Kyle MacLachlan.
