Absolutely stunning. The film starts with a brilliant opening shot and it works it way through the Mexican/American border. Intertwining the both countries in this big dope ring, crime syndicate.
Welles’ character, the famed detective with his ‘game leg’, navigates his way through the crime scenes looking for the killer. But ultimately, it wasn’t about the killer or the syndicate. It was about corruption and abuse of power (very Shakespearean).
Welles’ character plants the evidence in a suspect’s house, etc.…
