Dune: Part Two

2024

★★★

Not horrible but did not live up to the hype around the film.

I love the director so it’s hard for me to say anything negative but I felt this film could have been 20-30 minutes shorter. Saw the film in imax and the sound obviously was very good and the music was good but some cgi especially in the third act dosent hold up looked about as equal to a xbox360 video game. Not all of the chi was bad just some parts very noticeable however that might just be because of the bigger imax screen. I do believe this film is better than the first by a land slide but the first was supposed to be used to build the narrative. Some of the fight scenes in the beginning very good and then the fight scenes in the third act not so good yes Austin buttlers fight scene with Timothy was ok not long enough I wanted a starwars length fight scene even when we get introduced to Austin buttlers character his fight scene was very short. I think Austin butler killed it as the bad guy but didn’t get enough screen time to solidify himself as one of the greats but that’s not his fault so he was a good bad guy. I did like watching the decent into the madness for our main character towards the third act so that was good to see. I will not be going to see this film again some scenes were straight up just blurry so if someone could explain why the director chose to do that then let me know in the comments because that also brought the score down for my review. Some acting felt bad especially from Florence P. A lot of negatives for me but still some stuff fiery pretty to look at and alot of talking not enough action making me feel like I was sitting in fine part one all over again and that’s not a good thing. But hopefully dune holly wars will be better I’ve decided to call part three that and once you see part two you will understand. I’ll probably be one of the few who dosent suck this film off and that’s ok with me everyone is entitled to their opinion but are you likening the film because of the hype or did you truly enjoy watching a almost three hour film where nothing really happens until the very end?
