Near-perfect movie. It does an exceptional job of portraying the intensity and horror of a real-life tour overseas. However, I felt there was a lack of a deeper emotional connection to the characters before the war began. Without enough background on them, it was hard to feel fully invested in their personal journeys. That said, it’s still a fantastic film, and I really appreciated how the end credits showcased the real soldiers, with the actors demonstrating how they actually experienced it.
