Anyway, Buddy Guy, who plays old Sammy, is the father of the rapper Shawnna, so Coogler's vision of the blues birthing hip-hop is literally true there.

A movie that understands that just putting Tim Robinson's face next to Kate Mara's is inherently funny. Two people that can't and shouldn't exist in the same universe. I have no idea how Robinson does what he does. No matter what he's doing he looks like his suit is too big for him.
