Hi Boxers, Sook-Yin Lee here--director, co-writer, and co-music composer of Paying For It. The last few weeks have been a whirling blurrr since premiering PFI at #TIff2024. Thank you for your warm embrace. You know, you make something and you never know how it will be received and all I can say is PHEWF! and THANK YOU! 💖🎬🌈 Paying For It is a tiny but mighty movie made by a team of cinema lovers. It’s a grass roots film handled with care. I'm on the road taking it to festivals, before the theatrical release next year. Today Sept 27, I'm at the Calgary International Film Fest with cartoonist Chester Brown (who wrote the original graphic novel Paying For It which the movie is adapted from). Next stop Mon. Sept. 30/Oct. 1 in Vancouver where I will be ed by lead actor Emily Lê, editor Anna Catley and Chester Brown. Later in October we're in Windsor, St. John's Newfoundland, and more. We’re hoping that our movie will resonate and make waves beyond borders. Here's hoping it reaches you. We are promoting it ourselves and appreciate your ally-ship spreading the word.
