It was a bit jarring seeing so many changes from the book during the first viewing experience, but god damn this was a religious and cinematic experience! Can't wait to watch this the second time, but Villeneuve made a masterpiece.

The cinematography, the immersive world of fremen, the alien world of Giedi Prime, Feyd, Alia, Paul's ascent, the epic soundtrack - it was so overwhelming I need to see this again.

As I think more and more about the changes, they actually improve upon the book, and giving Chani it's own character individuality and seeing Paul's ascent through her eyes is one of the best changes from the first book.
