World’s #1 Peanuts Movie enjoyer

1984
Certified Coen classic. Because of course it is.
Hard to assess whether sleepiness hampered my enjoyment at all, but boy was I locked for that third act. Outside of how obviously gorgeous and tonally confident it is for a debut feature, you get a great sense for their knack at character writing; they wrong such tragedy and complexity out of what should be such trite characters, and the narrative outcomes are always just spectacular. They might genuinely be top 4 for me at this point, it’s so serious.
