Tim McClelland’s review published on Letterboxd:
A visually stunning film that feels epic at times and brings the story around nicely from the unresolved elements of the first movie for the most part. Still, as someone who never read the books or delved into this world, I can't say I love where the story ultimately went in its final moments, as it was a mix of thrilling things that I needed to see during the final battle, and the upsetting story turns that felt unnecessarily tragic. And while I know there are other books and likely a third film on the way, I find myself having the same problem here as I did with the first installment, that being that I enjoyed the journey but not all the elements about how it wraps up or generally fails to in certain character aspects. Still, it's a thrilling film that is worth watching. I'm just not sure that I'm in love with the world of Dune like so many others seem to be.
