this being based on true events truly makes it more of an uncomfortable experience once the movie ends.
everyone was complicit, and the way sandra tried to deflect blame at the end and downplay becky's situation speaks volumes.
most of the characters being absolutely fucking idiots (sandra, van, marti) for most of the movie was absolutely frustrating, especially when nobody took a second to think and/or confirm if 'officer daniels' was actually an officer.

not usually the type of movie i'd go for i think? since this is teetering more on action/mystery, but...
i believe this film had a strong plotline in the first & second act of the movie but it falls flat in the third act even though it truly begins to unravel then, and the story gets slightly messy & filler-like once anna calls in to report David and the FBI/military gets involved.
however i do think it was very clever how they intertwined…
a coked up dark comedy that follows two friends, one being on the verge of eviction with his wife & child, doing anything for money.
i think after a certain point it became predictable and repetitive, but i do think it had it's funny moments
taking it for what it is, i think it's a pretty fun & straight to the point movie
mentally unstable elijah wood with severe & slightly incestuous mommy issues Scalps & murders woman to try and fix said mommy issues
for not having seen the original, i think this movie holds its own. its gory, brutal & twisted— but you can't help but to feel a hint of sympathy for Frank Zito.
watching your mom prostitute herself out to (multiple) strangers can make you go a little insane am i right folks
