truly a victim of being overhyped because i think if i had gone in with lower expectations i would have been really pleasantly surprised. fun and so visually compelling, and with great moments of comedy, but felt somewhat confused in its tone and message. the feminist message at its core was just basic and cheesy (and i love musicals, i'm here for cheese when it feels right for the established tone). i also really wanted to buy in more to…
