this should be stephanie hsu’s second oscar

me watching asteroid city for the first time: “silly! sad! jason schwartzman and adrien brody are so fucking hot!”
me watching asteroid city for the second time: “i will never see life the same way again and have been irreversibly altered on both a molecular and existential level. jason schwartzman and adrien brody are so fucking hot.”
I loved every single second of Sanctuary, a smart, sharp, and sensationally sexy love story for sickos that’ll have you both horrified and horny for 90 minutes straight. Margaret Qualley and Christopher Abbott are at the top of their craft here - a match made in masochistic heaven. You guys are gonna love this lol omg.
Carmen is an absorbing audiovisual spectacle from start-to-finish, complete with captivating choreography, a stunner of a score from Nicholas Britell, and crackling chemistry between Melissa Barrera and Paul Mescal. It’s a little light on story, but always emotionally involving, and truly unlike anything I’ve ever seen - an honest-to-God original artistic vision.
i actually really loved this but the memory of seeing it will be forever tainted by the fact that a transphobe tried to attack me when i was leaving the theater and though i am still seriously shaken up by that it’s sadly morbidly humorous that one of my first thoughts when it happened was “i’m about to die and the last thing i did was see dungeons & dragons”
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
I too would like to be in a ring with Michael B. Jordan in which there were no others
This is undoubtedly the weakest in the trilogy, the boys are sorely missed, and idk what they were thinking with that narration, BUT… that doesn’t mean it isn’t still a silly, sexy time in its own right with crackling chemistry between its two leads and an iconic ending that sends you out of the theater on a high only a strip show can provide. Happy Valentine’s Day to Channing, Salma, and Steven only.
